Police reported that while the ANIU team was surveilling the area, they observed two men behaving suspiciously.
The Muthialpet police arrested two men on Tuesday evening in Broadway for possessing 40 grams of methamphetamine. Authorities also seized two mobile phones and a motorcycle from the suspects.
The arrested individuals are S Mohammed Mastan (29) from Ramanathapuram district and U Saddam Sheriff (30) from Kdoungaiyur. They were apprehended by a team from the Anti Narcotic Intelligence Unit (ANIU) of the North Zone. Based on information provided by the pair, police detained another individual the following day.
According to police, the ANIU team was monitoring the area when they noticed the two men behaving suspiciously. Upon searching them, the drugs were discovered. Police noted that Mastan already has three pending cases against him.
