Murugesan, a sub-inspector with the Intelligence Bureau at Chennai airport for several years, suffered a cardiac arrest while on duty on Thursday morning.
A 55-year-old police sub-inspector on duty at Chennai airport passed away from a cardiac arrest on Thursday.
Murugesan, who hailed from Virudhunagar, had been with the Intelligence Bureau at the airport for several years. Around 9 AM that morning, while stationed at the domestic terminal, he suddenly collapsed. Security personnel quickly transported him to a private hospital within the airport, and he was subsequently referred to another facility in Chromepet, where he was pronounced dead due to cardiac arrest.
The airport police then arranged for his body to be sent for an autopsy at a government hospital. Following this, his remains were returned to his family and taken to Virudhunagar.
