A sneak peek into her life

Her  musical career largely owes to her strong musical background. She learnt music first from her maternal aunt Ranganayaki Parthasarathy who was the disciple (shishai) of the legend Sattur AG Subramaniam. Then secondly her sister Malika Srinivasan enlightened her. It’s from her sister says Mrs.Mythili, that she learnt many slokas.  .

Her interest in music was also hugely supported by her mother-in-law who was the niece of Chithra Veena Narayanan Iyengar. She concludes stating that it has been almost around 25 years since she shifted to Chennai and for these past twenty five years she has been performing various musical programs.

Her Devi  group  is presently managed by herself and her cousin Rangamani Srinivasan. She further continues stating that this group consist of around 35 members and they are conducting musical programs in and around Nanganallur for free of cost. She says that sometimes they receive donation for this small group of theirs which they would indeed use for donating to   cancer institutions and other charitable works. They also collect a meagre amount from each member and use it for donating food at temples ( Annadanam). She puts forth that the aim of Devi group is to serve people via music.

She states that their group has conducted programs at several temples like Shirdi Sai Temple, Guruvayur Appan temple, Rajarajeswari Temple, Lakshmi Narasiman Temple etc. She says that they had also telecasted one of their programs in Sankara Channel during the year 2008.

Their main focus says Mrs. Mythili, is to help the people in need. Already they are doing several charitable works but she says that she wants to expand this horizon by extending help for educational purposes. Her other objective is to increase the number of her group by adding more members. Presently Mrs. Mythili is taking musical classes for many interested adults. She wanted to lead her group to even greater achievements in the future.

She feels that celebrating women’s day is very healthy for it gives recognition to the achievement and hard work of women.

Mrs. Mythili is a very good human being. She was recently awarded with Gnyana Sadhika Award by Inner Wheel club of Nanganallur. Regarding this Mrs. Mythili says that awards give her more responsibility. Women like Mrs.Mythili Venkataraman are inspiration for young ladies of today.
