Bhavya dance at Krishna Gana Sabha

Bhavya Balasubramanian, by dint of her excellence, qualifies as the torchbearer of bright young dancers and she is a rare combination of high energy and great serenity. Initiated into Bharatanatyam at age four by Vazhuvoor R. Samraj and under his able guidance, Bhavya had her arangetram at age nine. Her promising talent was skilfully brought to focus by Srekala Bharath under whose tutelage Bhavya transformed into an expressive, skillful performer.

A B-grade artiste of Doordharshan, India, Bhavya has been decorated with many awards like Dr Balasaraswathi Endowment from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha; Yuva Kala Bharathi; Natya Chudar; Yuvasri Kala Bharathi; Natya Yuva Bhushan and Padmabhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam award.

Always a winner, she has also collected a number of medals in India and abroad.

She has given over 120 programmes in India and other countries, including Singapore, USA and Canada.

The brilliant dancer, daughter of Bhavani and K Balasubramanian, had an equally brilliant academic career and is presently pursuing chartered accountancy course.

Bhavya would be presenting a programme on January 7, 2012 at Krishna Gana Sabha, T Nagar, Chennai, at 6 p.m.
