By early 2017 the hospital has added 150 beds to its present set up. Hereby it will be able to cater to the needs of its patients in a more spacious environment.

Udai Omni Hospital has evolved over four decades to expand its care to patients of all ages under the leadership of DrVedPrakash. Until recently known as Udai Hospital , the team joined hands with Incor’s Omni Hospitals and is now called Udai Omni Hospital. The hospital has added a new wing adjacent to the present hospital to offer our patients spacious facilities and better infrastructure.

According to International Osteoporosis Foundation, one in three women and one in five men aged 50 years and over will suffer an osteoporotic fracture in their lifetime. Osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and fragile, so that they break easily – even as a result of a minor fall, a bump, a sneeze, or a sudden movement. Fractures caused by osteoporosis can be life-threatening and a major cause of pain and long-term disability.

Osteoporosis is a silent condition. Often the first manifestation may be a fracture.

The most common fractures in osteoporosis involve the hip joint, the wrist joint and the shoulder joint. Most of these fractures require surgery to regain good function. Many elderly people may not be fit for surgery and as a result suffer pain and poor lifestyle in the long term.

How do we prevent osteoporosis?

Osteoporosis is preventable. Udai Omni Hospital has a long tradition of treating this condition and one of the primary aims of this press release is to make people aware of how important it is to look after ones bones and keep them strong througout their life.

Prevention should start in childhood. Children should be encouraged to play outdoors and physical activity should be a big part of their childhood experience. Physical activity builds strong bones. Sufficient reserves should be built up for preventing severe osteoporosis.

As adults we can take the following measures:

  1. Exercise regularly – this means walking briskly, running, muscle strengthening and sports.
  2. Ensure a diet rich in bone healthy nutrients. Calcium, vitamin D, proteins are most important for bone health. Vitamin D is freely available by exposing oneself to sunlight. Even 15-20 minutes in the morning is adequate.
  3. Healthy lifestyle – avoid smoking, excessive alcohol, maintain an ideal weight.
  4. See your doctor if you feel you have any risk factors for osteoporosis.
  5. Get tested and treated if needed. Plenty of help is now available but a doctor needs to be an expert in treating osteoporosis.

Many latest treatments are now available at Udai Omni Hospital, Chapel Road, Hyderabad. We may be contacted on 79955 71150 or 04023232226 for appointments.
