Mullu thenkuzhal

ngredients

Rice flour - 3 cups

Roasted gram flour (pottu kadalai maavu) - 1 cup

Ghee - 50 gm

Jeera - ½ spoon

Asafoetida powder - 1 spoon

Red chillie powder - 2 spoons

Oil - 500 gm

Salt to taste

Method

Grind the roasted gram finely in a mixer. To the rice flour, add the roasted gram flour, salt, ghee, jeera, red chillie powder, asafoetida powder and mix well like a dough. It should not be watery.

In a pan, heat oil. Take the mullu thenguzhal mould-press and fill it with the dough and circle it in the oil in a round shape, Turn both sides. Wait till it becomes golden brown. Take it off the oil and drain it.

Crunchy mullu thenkuzhal is ready for Deepavali.
