Sri Ragam

Sri Ragam is an ancient raga in Carnatic music. Notably, it takes the lower madhyamam being a janya raga of Kharaharapriya. Sri Ragam is considered to be highly auspicious.

Arohanam - sa, ri, ma, pa, ni, sa

Avarohanam - sa, ni, pa, dha, nipa, ma, ri, ga, ma, ri, sa

It is an audava (5 notes), vakra (the notes are not in a straight order) sampoorna raga (seven notes).

It is a ghana raga and the last one in the Pancharatna Kritis of Saint Tyagaraja – ‘Entharomahanubhavulu’.

It can be sung at any time of the day.
