Vimala’s rice sundal


Boiled Rice – 200 gm
Green gram – 150 gm
Chillies – 5 numbers
Mustard – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaf – A handful
Urad dhal - 2 teaspoons
Onions – 2 or 3 (chopped)
Oil - 3 teaspoons
Salt to taste


Heat the kadai and roast the rice and green gram separately to brown colour. Then pressure cook it. Water can be in the ratio of 1:2 i.e. if rice and gram measure two cups, water can be four cups. Pressure cook it after adding salt to taste. Like pressure cooking normal rice, the same time can be taken to pressure cook this sundal also.

Next, heat the oil in a pan and add mustard, curry leaf, urad dhal. Now put in the onion, chillies (green or red) in the same order. Then add cooked rice and green gram. Mix well together. Serve hot.
