Vimala’s dry fruits halwa


Cashews – 50 gm

Badam – 50 gm

Dry grapes – 50 gm

Any other dry fruits of your choice - Totalling 200 gm

Sugar – 400 gm

Corn flour – 50 gm

Ghee – 500 gm


First chop the dry fruits into pieces. Then mix the corn flour in 200 ml water in a separate bowl. Keep a big, thick-bottomed kadai on the stove. Heat it and then pour 50 gm of ghee. Add the diluted corn flour. Stir continuously to ensure there are no lumps.

After five minutes, or when it gets thickened, add the dry fruits and sugar. In-between add 2-3 teaspoons of ghee at regular intervals. When the whole thing turns into halwa consistency, remove it from the stove.

Serve hot or cold.
